Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to Milano for the SMS Special Conference on “Governing Knowledge and Imagination in The Digital Era”, June 15-18, 2022.

The conference will provide a unique opportunity for practitioners and scholars to come together in person in order to share ideas, discuss opportunities, develop actionable solutions, initiate research projects, and to consider questions related to how digitalization is affecting all dimensions of corporate life.

The conference is designed to host equal participation of practitioners and academics through facilitated “LABs” – in which academics, managers, entrepreneurs and consultants will develop solutions to real problems and challenges advanced by real firms – “Interactive research/practice multi-media Roundtables” (IMRs) on issues proposed by participants, Interactive Plenaries, Parallel presentation sessions with both practice and research orientations, and Guest Speeches offered by thought leaders in different fields.

The conference site will be the new campus of SDA Bocconi School of Management. Inaugurated in 2019 to celebrate the School’s 50th anniversary, the campus features a Near Zero Energy group of five buildings and a sports center designed by Sanaa’s architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa.

The conference site is located in downtown Milano, walking distance from the main attractions such as the Duomo and Gallery, La Scala theatre, Castello Sforzesco, Leonardo’s The Last Supper, the Fashion district, and literally hundreds of great restaurants and bars. Milano itself is conveniently located: in two hours or less – by car or fast train – one can reach Venice, Bologna and Florence, lakes Como, Garda and Maggiore, Genova, Portofino and Cinque Terre, the Alps … and Rome, in about three hours.
